Dumbo Gets Mad nasce nell’estate 2010 fra Los Angeles e Reggio Emilia.
L’idea sulla quale si basa il progetto è quella di fondere un’intenzione elettrica e analogica a una sonorità persa nel tempo, calda e organica in modo da creare una fusione ad alto contenuto psichedelico capace di trasportare verso lidi sconosciuti ma rassicuranti.
Dopo interessamenti da parte della stampa internazionale e di svariati blog americani il progetto decide di fare uscire un primo LP con Bad Panda Records nel Febbraio 2011.”Elephants at The Door” è il suo titolo e viene distribuito digitalmente con l’innovativa formula del “pay with a tweet”, riuscendo a raggiungere in poco più di un anno la soglia dei 100mila digital download e in formato vinile in numero limitato (500 copie).
Il duo inizia un tour che lo vedrà aprire per “The Books” al Circolo degli Artisti a Roma, per i Neon Indian a Padova e per i Black Lips a Marsiglia. Si aggiunge nell’autunno 2012 un minitour Californiano di 4 date che congederà Elephants at The Door aprendo le porte al nuovo disco “Quantum Leap” in uscita nel febbraio 2013 sempre per Bad Panda Records.
A novembre 2015 esce il nuovo album “Thank You Neil” per Ghost Records/Bad Panda Records.

Dumbo Gets Mad had its origins in the summer of 2010 between Los Angeles and Reggio Emilia.

The idea on which this project is based upon is to blend together an electronic and analogical intention with a long lost warm and organic sonority, with the result of a highly psychedelic fusion capable of carrying the listener towards unknown but, at the same time, safe and familiar shores.

Following the interest that was shown by international press and especially various American blogs, the group decides to release their first LP with Bad Panda Records in February 2011. “Elephants at The Door” is its title, and it’s distributed on digital platforms through the innovative mean of the “pay with a tweet”, managing to reach in less than a year 100 thousand digital downloads and succeeding in selling out the 500 limited edition copies of the vinyl version.

The duo starts a tour as the opening act for “The Books” at Circolo degli Artisti in Rome, for the “Neon Indian” in Padua and finally, for the “Black Lips” in Marseille. Moreover, in the autumn of 2012, a new four dates-only Californian tour opens up the gate for their new record, “Quantum Leap” released in February 2013 for Bad Panda Records.

In November 2015 their latest album, “Thank You Neil” was released for Ghost Records and Bad Panda Records.
