“Thank You Neil”, che uscirà il prossimo 20 novembre (venerdì) per Ghost Records / Bad Panda, suona molto più grezzo, immediato, dei precedenti, come se il processo creativo del duo trovasse immediato output espressivo senza dover rifrangersi in post-produzioni sognanti che caratterizzavano i lavori precedenti. La concretezza si nota anche dall’aderenza ad alcune scene di chiara ispirazione dei DGM, come gli italiani degli anni Sessanta/Settanta (citano Bruno Nicolai e Piero Umiliani nelle loro influenze), ma soprattutto si sente molto forte la scena psych-soul che va dai Soft Machine agli Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti. L’album è compatto e scorrevole come una sonda che viaggia tranquilla nell’universo fino ad arrivare, come dicono loro, alle orecchie di qualche essere con una sensibilità affine, che possa capire e amare quello che sente.
